Life lately….
Investing in the Next Generation
This past week also marked the end of seven incredible weeks with our summer interns.
Each of them came willing to serve wherever they were needed, and that's exactly what they did. They taught in classrooms, served in the clinic, invested in the spiritual lives of our students, helped with events, and spent countless hours simply building relationships.
One of my favorite things about watching them serve wasn't just seeing what they accomplished. It was watching the relationships they built with our kids.
They laughed together, worshipped together, played games, had hard conversations, prayed together, and simply showed up day after day.
At Project Canaan, relationships matter.
So saying goodbye is never easy.
Our children love deeply, and before long these interns became family. While there were certainly tears this week, there was also so much gratitude for the way God used each of them during their time here.
I'm excited to see how the Lord continues to use them long after they've returned home.
Looking Ahead
As one season comes to an end, another is already beginning.
Over the next few weeks we'll be preparing for some exciting changes in our ministry to our older students.
Rather than continuing with a traditional Sunday School model for Grades 6 through 8, we're transitioning to small groups during their already scheduled time with our Pastor on Fridays and Saturdays. Myself, another long-term volunteer, and some of our Spiritual Life team will be leading these small groups for now.
Our hope is that these smaller groups will create even more opportunities for meaningful conversations, discipleship, prayer, and relationships as these students continue growing in their faith.

Life Lately
Outside of ministry, this past week was a gift.
One of my dearest friends, Kristin (and her oldest daughter, Keaya), came all the way from Georgia to visit. It was such a joy to share this beautiful country with someone who has known me for years. Watching them meet the children, experience life at Project Canaan, and see what God is doing here made me fall in love with this place all over again.
While Kristin, Keaya and I were busy at Project Canaan with a Dance and Identity workshop, leading staff development sessions, and so much more, Preston spent the week traveling throughout South Africa with his boss, Brian, visiting ministry partners and learning from other organizations. I'm looking forward to hearing everything he learned and experienced while he was away.
God has been so kind to us in this season.
How You Can Pray
Would you join us in praying for a few specific things?
Pray for our Grade 6 through 8 students as we begin this transition into small-group discipleship.
Pray for wisdom as we prepare curriculum and continue investing in the spiritual lives of our children and staff.
Pray for our interns as they return home and continue following wherever God leads them.
Pray that we would faithfully point people to Jesus in both the ordinary moments and the big ones.
