another trip around the sun
Birthdays look a little different when you live halfway around the world.
This year, Preston planned a surprise weekend getaway without telling me where we were going. Somehow, he managed to pull off the impossible...a surprise I actually loved.
We spent the weekend fishing, spotting elephants, crocodiles, and more hippos than I could count, I caught my first tiger fish, and we soaked in the beauty of this incredible country we now get to call home.
On my actual birthday, I celebrated with some of my favorite kids at Project Canaan, had lunch with my favorite Gen Z crew, and finished the day with cake, laughter, and so much gratitude.
As I look back on another year, I'm thankful for God's faithfulness, for the incredible people He's placed in my life, for Preston, and for the privilege of serving here in Eswatini. I couldn't have imagined this season a few years ago, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Here's to another trip around the sun.
